Actions Taken
No legal action was taken against the gendarmes nor an investigation undertaken.
Some former Regiment of Presidential Security members accused of attempting to attack an armory in 2015 claimed during their trial that gendarmes tortured them during their detention in Ouagadougou and Leo. Additionally, one of the witnesses, Ali Ouedraogo, a son of one of the accused RSP members, stated gendarmes physically assaulted him during the search of their house as part of the investigation.
