Journalists detained over false publications01 Jan 2019, by CS Database in
Incidents & Issues
Six journalists were arrested, interrogated, and detained, being from four media outlets (Inter, Notre Voie, Le Temps, and Soir Info) that had, in their respective publications, alleged payment by the government to mutinous soldiers. The then-recent protests by soldiers for better pay started before the publications in question, and so they could not have triggered these protests.
