The management of BF1 television announced in a press release on March 24, 2025 that its journalist, Luc Pagbelguem, was "brought in by agents of the National Security Council."
"We received two National Security Council agents at BF1 television this Monday, March 24, 2025, around 4:30 p.m. The two agents informed the Director General of BF1 of their wish to hear journalist Luc Pagbelguem about his report on the closing of the Congress of the Association of Burkinabe Journalists (AJB). This is how our colleague was taken by the two agents to their vehicle," the press release reads.
The television added that "the agents of the National Security Council assure that they only wish to hear our colleague."
It should be noted that the first two leaders of the AJB were arrested on March 24, 2025. One of them, Guézouma Sanogo, president of the AJB, had declared, among other things, that RTB and AIB, two public service media, had become "propaganda tools." His comments were relayed in a report produced by journalist Luc Pagbelguem and broadcast on BF1.
