On September 8, 2023, radio host Sidiki Kouyaté, popularly known as “Sèkè Agelement”, and writer-activist Tahirou Bah were detained and remanded in custody following an order by Dr. Adama Coulibaly, prosecutor for the cybercrime unit.
Kouyaté was accused of making comments on social media likely to disturb public order, while Bah was charged with public insults and disruption of public order. Their arrests followed the trial and detention of their associate, “Ben le cerveau”, after which Kouyaté allegedly made the controversial remarks online.
The two remain in custody as they await their trial, scheduled for November 30, 2023.
