1,192 school principals were demoted after a strike. The Minister of Primary, Secondary, Technical Education, and Crafts issued an order on Thursday, November 4, to replace just over 1,000 public school principals. A decision made public the day after a 48-hour strike by teachers, who were demanding that the government respect the reimbursement of their exceptional bonus.
The 1,192 principals are downgraded. And the minister's order indicates that they must resume their place as teachers in the classrooms. In Dapaong, 677 principals are concerned. Meeting in a general assembly on Friday, November 5, they demand the application of the right to strike without being sanctioned. Failing which, the strike will be extended in the Savanes region.
