    Description

The Police, on 22 September 2016 again prevented the BBOG Group from marching to the Presidential Villa after denying them entrance on the 22nd of August, 2016. The Police had denied them access to the Presidential Villa on three other occasions.

In defending their actions, the FCT Police command spokesperson Anjuguri Manzah stated that protest carried out in recent time in Abuja had obstructed traffic and created tension.

    Actions Taken

After a public backlash on the obstruction of the Chibok Girls Group protests, the Inspector General of Police came out to acknowledge that peaceful public protest or procession is part of the democratic process, which should not be trifled with, once it is within the ambit of the law
