Description

A High Court sitting in Lokoja, Kogi State has restrained the deputy national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Muritala Yakubu Ajaka, from participating in the APC governorship primary election in the state on April 14, 2023.

In an order granted by Justice A.S Ibrahim, the applicants, Imaji Danladi and Amoka Suberu prayed  the court to restrain the governorship aspirant Muritala Ajaka who is also the first defendant in the matter from participating on April 14, 2023, APC primary election in the state.

This action is in violation of the judgment of the Federal High Court, under the Abuja Judicial Division, which has granted an interim injunction restraining the All Progressives Congress (APC) from acting on the purported suspension of a governorship aspirant of the party in Kogi state, Hon. Murtala Yakubu Ajaka.

The presiding judge, Justice H. Muazu, on Thursday, granted the prayers of Murtala’s counsels, S.E. Aruwa (SAN), E. Omage and D.E. Akori seeking to restrain APC from excluding the governorship aspirant from participating in the Kogi state primary election pending the hearing and determination of the suit.
