Description

Judged this Thursday, January 12, 2023 by the Court of Instance of Dakar, the three activists members of civil society were sentenced to 2 months in prison for participating in an undeclared demonstration.  They are Bayna Guèye, Ousmane Sarr and Ahmad Sourang Diallo.  Indeed, the delegate of the prosecution had requested 6 months in prison, including 3 months firm. As a reminder, the activists were arrested on January 3 during the meeting between Prime Minister Amadou Ba and civil society actors to discuss the release of the report of the Court of Auditors at the Petit Palais.  Ousmane Sarr and his companions chanted the name of the journalist Pape Alé Niang in these terms:  "Free Pape Alé Niang,  Macky Sall dictator".

Words that led to their arrest by the elements of urban security.
