Description

Officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Ebonyi State have invited the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Nwoba Chika Nwoba, over his use of Biafra colours and insignia to design his wedding cake.

Nwoba and his wife, Onyinyechi had surprised their guests at their wedding reception when they unveiled a cake designed with unmistakable Biafra colours.

The wedding took place on Saturday, June 25 at St Joseph Anglican Church, in his country home, Ekpelu community in Ikwo LGA.

Nwoba confirmed his invitation by the DSS through his verified Facebook page on Monday night .

He wrote that the DSS had summoned him to appear in their Abakaliki office by 12 noon on Tuesday.

“Got an invitation from the DSS, Abakaliki office tomorrow by 12 pm. I knew I would be invited. As a law-abiding citizen, if the road is clear tomorrow, I will honour it,” he wrote.

The controversial Publicity Secretary had told reporters in Abakaliki on Sunday that he decided to use Biafra insignia to design his cake as a way of identifying with the Biafra agitation.

“I actually did it to pass a message, that no matter our political inclinations, we still have the interest of the Igbo nation at heart. It is to show my love and my commitment towards ensuring that the gospel for the creation of a country of Igbo extraction, comes to fruition,” he said.
