On Sunday, January 26, a dozen police officers stormed Home Digital FM, ordering the radio station to cease broadcasting immediately. The station's manager, Pa Modou Bojang, was arrested and taken into custody.
Following pressure from the Gambia Press Union (GPU) and other rights organizations, Bojang was released on Tuesday, January 28. However, the abrupt shutdown of the station has raised concerns over press freedom and government censorship in The Gambia.
