Description

Ekiti State Punch Correspondent, Kamar Ogundele was physically assaulted by political thugs suspected to be working for Governor Ayodele Fayose in Ekiti state.

Ogundele was attacked while trying to take photographs of women praying for peace in the state following the attempt by 19 APC lawmakers to impeach Governor Fayose. His pleas that he was a journalist with a right to take a report of the activities fell on deaf years as the hoodlums, numbering about fifty descended heavily on him. He narrowly escaped their clutches following an internal disagreement within the group over the extent of his assault.

Governor Fayose apologized and condemned the attack by the thugs on the PUNCH journalist.
