Conakry, Guinea – On August 22, 2022, journalist Habib Marouane Camara, administrator of the news website Le Révélateur 224, was summoned by the High Authority for Communication (HAC) for questioning over an article published on his platform.
After three hours of interrogation, Camara was informed that the summons was related to the content of the article. While he was not suspended, the HAC advised him to exercise greater professionalism in his reporting.
In its decision, the HAC noted that Camara had expressed regret over the publication and had voluntarily withdrawn the article from his website. The incident raises further concerns about press freedom and the increasing scrutiny of journalists in Guinea.
