Description

Hoodlums yesterday, allegedly attacked and stabbed a driver of Channels TV, Lekan Sanusi, while the TV crew was recording the condition of gridlock on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway as well as around the Apapa and Tin Can ports, Lagos.

Aside from him, the crew members of Arise Television, who were also within the axis to report on ease of movement around the ports, were also attacked by the hoodlums who asked them to halt recording.

As gathered, the hoodlums that attacked the journalists were members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), and Maritime workers, as well as, those engaged by the Apapa Local Government.

A reporter with Arise TV confirmed to The Guardian that she learnt about the attack but she was unable to speak with her colleague at the time of filing this report. Also, a Channels TV reporter also told The Guardian that Sanusi was attacked in the area.
