Kano Sharia Police Hisbah Arrests TikToker ‘UK International’ Over Videos Of Him Hugging, Carrying, Bathing With Women

The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested a TikTok content creator, Ukasha Yahaya, popularly known as UK International, over videos in which he was seen hugging, carrying and bathing with women.

The board’s Deputy Commander General, Dr Mujahid Aminuddeen, confirmed the arrest on Thursday, saying Yahaya was apprehended after the Hisbah received intelligence that he had entered Kano, according to Daily Trust.

Aminuddeen said the 27-year-old was being detained while investigations into the videos continued.

Yahaya, who is from Gusau, Zamfara State, but resides in Abuja, reportedly admitted during interrogation that he could not remember the number of videos he had produced featuring women.

Some of the videos showed him dancing with, hugging or carrying women, while others depicted swimming and bathing scenes.

The TikToker said some of his videos had attracted between one million and three million views.

When asked how he sourced the women who appeared in his videos, Yahaya said they approached him because of his work as a content creator.

He said his mother and others had repeatedly warned him against producing such content. He added that his sisters were all married and said he was already considering quitting the type of content as he prepares for marriage.

Yahaya apologised for his actions and promised not to repeat them.

His TikTok account, UK INTERNATIONAL, has more than 262,000 followers and over 2.4 million likes.

Aminuddeen said Yahaya would be charged in court after the completion of investigations.

He also warned youths against using TikTok to produce content that violates what the Hisbah considers acceptable moral and religious standards.
