Rukaiyyat Usman, a state counsel with the Nassarawa state ministry of justice was sacked from her workplace for her criticism on Facebook of the government handling of the outbreak of Lassa Fever in Nassarawa State.

In the Facebook post that resulted in the termination of her appointment, Rukaiyyat lamented the lack of proactive measures and media awareness over a disease that led to the death of Nurse Ibrahim Oshafu, who she eulogized in the said Facebook post.

Her letter of termination was hinged on PARAGRAPH A of her appointment letter.
