The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State has condemned an attack on members of its Ward M1, alleging that three individuals masterminded the incident.
The attack, which reportedly occurred on Thursday, October 22, 2026, left several party members injured, while personal belongings were allegedly stolen and chairs and other seating materials destroyed.
In a statement issued on Friday, October 23, Chief Adeyinka Odukoya, chairman of the ADC Alimosho Local Government Management Team, condemned the incident and assured affected members that the party leadership would take steps to address their security concerns and provide support.
The statement identified three individuals as alleged masterminds of the attack.
Party Leaders Visit Affected Ward
Odukoya said the incident occurred while he was accompanying local government executives and party candidates on a tour of Ward D and Ward M2.
He said that upon receiving information about the attack, he immediately contacted the state chairman and relevant security agencies to address the situation and prevent further violence.
Odukoya subsequently led his entourage to the affected Ward M1 and the police station. The delegation included the party's House of Assembly Constituency I candidate, Ojogbon Gideon Adeniran, and its House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Ola Olusola Motunrayo.
They met with the Ward M1 chairman and some members of the ward, including women. According to the statement, attention was also given to members who had sustained injuries and remained at the scene.
The party leadership said it had initiated further security measures to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack and determine those responsible.
ADC Moves To Assess Losses, Support Victims
“As part of its response, the Ward M1 executives were directed to compile a detailed inventory of missing personal belongings and damaged property,” the statement said.
“The report is to be submitted to the state chairman to facilitate appropriate intervention and support for affected members.”
The party also scheduled an emergency meeting involving elders, leaders, local government executives and ward chairmen for Friday, October 23, to discuss the welfare of injured members, possible assistance for those who suffered losses, and measures to prevent a recurrence.
