    Description

Policemen attached to Yaba Police Area Command in Ondo town allegedly brutalized a correspondent of the state-owned Newspaper, The Hope. Mr. Akinkuolie was assaulted for allegedly challenging the policemen who parked on a major road in the community.

The actions of the Policemen which caused a traffic snarl on the major highway did not prevent Mr. Akinkuolie from being beaten mercilessly. Mr. Akinkuolie was rescued from the hands of the Policemen by newspaper vendors around Idi-Isin area where he was brutalized. According to the local news website Pulse, the attack was an attempt by police to “deal with” Akinkuolie, who has exposed police intimidation in the past.
