At the initiative of the M30 Naaba Wobgo Movement, a series of demonstrations against Neocolonialism were to begin this Friday, August 12, 2022 in several cities in Burkina Faso.
In Ouagadougou, the demonstrators who gathered at the United Nations roundabout were dispersed by elements of the national police using tear gas.
A protester was even arrested by the police. Yeli Monique Kam, coordinator of the M30 Naaba Wobgo Movement, was exfiltrated from the premises, according to a witness, by her supporters.
The M30 Naaba Wobgo Movement was created on July 30, 2022 on the initiative of Yeli Monique Kam, an unsuccessful candidate for the 2020 presidential election.
The movement has set itself the task of working to raise people's awareness of the content of the French Agreement in military and economic matters, the breaking of these agreements deemed ineffective and the effective application of Resolution 1514 of 1960 granting independence in Burkina Faso.
To achieve these objectives, the M30 Naaba Wobgo Movement has launched a slogan for a demonstration every Friday, from August 12, 2022, in front of the French Embassy in Burkina Faso.
