Description

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Sunday, shutdown Ozoza FM, a radio station owned by the Catholic Diocese of Owerri.

The reason for the sudden closure, however, was not disclosed as of the time of filing this report.

But Nonso Uba, a presenter of the station, alleged that the Imo State government used the NBC to close down the Radio station for exposing Ebubeagu killings in Imo.

In his words, “For exposing the Imo State government’s lies against the slain Otulu youths, they used NBC to shut Ozisa Fm Owerri down”.

Also, another presenter of Oziza FM, Amb Pope Saviola Gudwyn said, “Because we dared to report the #AwomamaMassacr, brought relatives of the slain youths on air and make you the people know the crystal clear truth, NBC shut down Ozisa 96.1 Fm Owerri.

“I and Nonso Nkwa are targeted as we’ve always been.

“Ozisa Fm remains the RADIO STATION OF THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE AND BY THE PEOPLE.”
