Description
The Lagos State Government had earlier promised and even went ahead to commence the distribution of relief items in certain areas.
However the truth is that the strategy for the distribution has been vague. Without proper database, how do they intend to distribute efficiently and fairly. We were not even informed of the local government areas that would benefit from a kickoff scheme. No details. No nothing. All propaganda.
The one that made me laugh was a video I saw where the said distribution was going on at Victoria Island. While not intending to dismiss the fact that all residents are entitled to enjoy palliative measures, we know the class of people who need them the most. These people do not live in fancy houses on the island.. These people are the rank and file who survive on crumbs from their daily meagre sales activity which is now on pause because of a lockdown. These are the people who should be priority because at the end of the day they are the ones who will definitely pour out in the streets when they can no longer survive on spittle for food.
