1. The 22 ExxonMobil Staff arrested by three Rivers State Government for crossing into the State from neighbouring Akwa Ibom State thus violating Executive Order on COVID-19 were Released on Sunday, April 19. The Governor, Nyesom Wike had on Friday April 17 in a nationwide TV Press Briefing announced their arrest and vowed to prosecute them.
2. By late Saturday afternoon of April 18, Rivers State Governor imposed TOTAL and COMPLETE Lockdown on some parts of Port Harcourt city LGA to start the next day being Sunday, April 19. The people where not given enough time to prepare for the lock down and some of those who tried to go move their things like car and properties to a safer place as the lock down commences are harassed by the Police implementing the lockdown. The areas affected by the total lock down are
• Creek road, including Prison junction, Nembe waterside, Cultural Centre, Yam Zone and Ahoada Street.
• Diobu area, including education bus stop, Kalabari by Odi Street, Afikpo Street, Gambia Street, the entire Ikoku Spare part zone, Rivers State University roundabout, and Abali Park under the flyover (both descending and ascending).
All residents and visitors to these neighbourhoods must stay at home. All business premises, shops and commercial interactions must also cease in these places with immediate effect.
