Description

Nigerian soldiers have abducted the wife of Yoruba secessionist agitator Sunday Igboho, says Ilana Omo Oodua, a Yoruba self-determination group.

Banji Akintoye, the leader of the group, alleged the military abducted from Mrs Igboho in her Ibadan home in the early hours of Thursday,

The Peoples Gazette reported that men dressed in military uniform attacked Mr Igboho’s house in Soka at about 1:30 a.m.

Footage from the incident showed blood spills in the activist’s living room as several vehicles and other valuable assets in the building were also destroyed.

In a statement confirming the incident, Mr Akintoye claimed seven persons were killed in the attack, with their corpses taken away.

“I want to say to the whole world that the attack was carried out by the elements of the Nigerian Army who were accompanied by international terrorists hired by the Nigerian state.

“The assailants spoke French fluently. Seven people were killed by the attackers, with their corpses were taken away. Scores of people, including the wife of Chief Ighoho, were also taken away by the gunmen,” he explained.

Mr Akintoye, doubling down on his claim, added, “Let me state without any fear or intimidation that the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration was responsible for the war that has just been declared against the peace-loving people of Yorubaland.

According to the media aide to the activist, Dapo Salami, the abducted victims were released by the gunmen in Ekiti state.
