Trigger Happy Policeman Kills 17 Year Old Girl

14-year-old Tina Ezekwe was shot dead by a trigger-happy police officer at the Iyana-Oworo area of Lagos State.  The incident happened as the police officer tried to arrest a bus driver for defying curfew time and lockdown rules.

One Yakubu Musa was also injured by the stray bullets fired by the erring policemen.

 

 

Actions Taken

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, ordered an in-depth investigation into the circumstances surrounding Tina’s death.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, also informed the general public that the two police officers suspected to have carried out the shooting have been arrested and subjected to internal disciplinary proceedings, adding that if they were found culpable, they would be prosecuted.
