Why Rusticated Student, Adeyeye, Was Arrested

Adeyeye Olorunfemi, a 400-level student of Environmental Sciences of the University of Lagos was rusticated for four semesters over a Facebook post that he wrote that was critical of the University’s management and administrative incompetence. Adeyeye would again be arrested and detained, along with other student activists for attending a student mobilization/solidarity meeting on the 22nd of September, 2016. In a response to his arrest, the University’s Spokesperson said his recent arrest was as a result of his attempt to cause chaos in the school’s environs.
