In August, the 5th edition of NGO Regulatory Compliance Clinic will hold in Kano State for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating in the North-West region of Nigeria. The Clinic aims to help non-profits to deepen their understanding of their statutory compliance obligations under Nigerian law, including anti-money laundering (AML) and countering financing of terrorism (CFT) rules applicable to the non-profit sector. The training proceeds upon the premise that enhancing NGOs’ regulatory compliance culture in the non-profit sector is a good strategy for pushing back on governmental restrictions on the civic space.
