On November 21, 2019, journalists Ebrahim Jambang (The Gambia Talent Promotion Media), Sally Jobe (Kerr Fatou), and Landing Ceesay (Paradise FM) were attacked by members of the Barrow Youth Movement and Barrow Fans Club while covering President Adama Barrow’s “Meet the People” tour.
The assailants destroyed cameras belonging to Jambang and Ceesay, with Jambang stating that his equipment was snatched and smashed after he filmed frustrated youth complaining about transportation issues.
Sally Jobe also reported being punched in the chest by a man identified as a translator for one of the ministers accompanying the president.
