Police surrounded the residence of Cellou Dalein Diallo, leader of the Union of Democratic Forces of Guinea (UFDG), preventing him from exiting and joining the opposition march taking place that day. The Comptroller General of Police, Ansoumane Bafoé Camara, claimed that the exercise was for Diallo’s protection.
